Poland allowed the transfer of decommissioned MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine

Poland soon intends to decommission the Soviet MiG-29 fighter jets and may transfer them to Ukraine. This was announced on May 16 by the Charge d'affaires of Poland in Ukraine, Piotr Lukasiewicz.
"As for the MiG-29, we are gradually removing them from our armament, replacing them with the F-16. Their transfer to Ukraine is quite possible, the relevant negotiations are still ongoing," he said in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of European Truth.
In addition, Poland is already preparing the 47th military aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 200 million euros.
The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh, said on May 13 that Poland was not going to send its fighters to the territory of Ukraine as part of a possible post-war regulation.
At the same time, in January, Kosinyak-Kamysh also noted that Polish society is tired of the conflict in Ukraine and disappointed by the Ukrainian refugees. It was noted that one of the reasons for the disagreement between the two countries was Warsaw's refusal to supply Kiev with the MiG-29 fighters remaining from Poland.
