40 minor perpetrators of wildfires detained in Transbaikalia


94 perpetrators of large-scale wildfires, including 40 children, have been detained in the Trans-Baikal Territory. This was announced on May 16 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
"Since the beginning of the year, 94 perpetrators of fires have been identified in the region, including 40 minors, and three criminal cases have been initiated," the Telegram channel says.
In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is currently extinguishing 35 forest fires that threaten human settlements. In the area of the eco-resort "Cook", the ignition of the edge of a forest fire on 40 hectares was eliminated with the help of a Be-200ChS aircraft. At the same time, more than 70 specialists and 17 pieces of equipment protect the settlement on earth. An Mi-8 helicopter is also extinguishing a fire near the village of Tankhi, 45 firefighters and 11 pieces of equipment are involved on the ground.
Earlier, on May 2, law enforcement officers detained a suspect in an arson attack that burned down 100 hectares of forest in the Trans-Baikal Territory. It was clarified that the fire occurred near the village of Burgen in the Chita region, where the fire spread to trees due to the burning of dry grass. It was possible to eliminate open gorenje only on the third day.
