Searches were conducted in the former country house of former Russian Foreign Minister Andrei Kozyrev (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) in the Moscow suburb of Barvikha in the case of a series of contract killings committed in the 1990s. This was announced on May 16 by a source of Izvestia.

According to him, cash, documents and equipment were seized from the house.

According to the investigation, in 2012 Kozyrev sold the mansion to people associated with a criminal boss from Tolyatti, a member of the organized crime group "Sirotinskiye" Igor Shinkorenko. He lived in the house until recently, when law enforcement agencies intensified an investigation into bandits who committed murders and extortion in the Samara region in the 1990s.

Shinkorenko, along with the alleged gang leader Igor Sirotenko, were arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list. At the moment, 11 more members of the group have been identified. Among other things, members of the organized crime group are being checked for involvement in the murder of Valery Ivanov, editor-in-chief of the Tolyatti Review newspaper, the source said.

Andrey Kozyrev headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RSFSR and then the Russian Foreign Ministry during Boris Yeltsin's first presidential term in 1990-1996.
