The political scientist called Biden and Harris the leaders of the past

Former US President Joe Biden and former Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris are the leaders of the past, the US Democratic Party needs a new strong leader. This was announced to Izvestia on May 16 by Vladimir Vasiliev, chief researcher at the Institute of the USA and Canada.
Earlier in the day, The Financial Times (FT) newspaper reported that the Democratic Party considers it necessary for the former US president to avoid public speaking amid new information about problems with his cognitive abilities.
"Today, both Biden and Harris, no matter what they say, are considered the main culprits of the Democrats' defeat in the 2024 presidential election. It was they who brought Trump back into the political field. Instead of showing that Trump is already a played card," the political scientist said.
He stressed that it is important for Democrats to find a strong political leader now, but instead Biden and Harris are trying to correct their mistakes.
"The leaders of the future must appear. And then there are Biden and Harris, the leaders of the past. This creates the impression that the Democratic Party is living in the past all the time. They (Biden and Harris. — Ed.) is an unwritten activist of the Democratic Party. And that's exactly what determines these statements today. If the Democrats really had strong leaders, then maybe Biden and Harris wouldn't have the urge to be so active right now," Vasiliev concluded.
In an interview with ABC News on May 9, Biden categorically rejected rumors about a weakening of his cognitive abilities. He recalled that during his entire presidential term, he was beset by many problems, starting with COVID-19.
On May 13, The New York Post (NYP) reported that Biden was already in the middle of his term forgetting the names of assistants he had worked with for many years. On the same day, Axios reported that former US President Joe Biden's aides discussed the possibility of using a wheelchair for a politician in the event of his victory in the November 2024 elections.
