- The meeting of the Council of Heads of CIS Security Services was held in Dushanbe.

The 56th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Dushanbe. This was announced on May 16 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.
During the plenary session, the participants focused on improving the interaction of special services in the fight against terrorism, religious extremism and cybercrime.
"It is planned to develop additional measures to identify sleeper cells of terrorist and extremist organizations on the territory of the CIS member states and approve a draft analytical document reflecting a comprehensive assessment and forecast of the development of security threats in the CIS member states," the FSB Central Control Center said in a statement.
In addition, the event will summarize the results of the implementation of the Program of Cooperation of the CIS member states on combating terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism for 2023-2025.
In addition to the plenary session, meetings of the SORB working bodies dedicated to specific areas of operational and service activities are also planned.
In November last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an address to the participants of the 12th meeting of the secretaries of the security Councils of the CIS member states, said that the situation in the world was far from stable, and it was important for the Commonwealth countries to use the analytical and predictive potential of their agencies to identify threats.
