The resumption of the work of the Russia–NATO Council is difficult to implement against the background of Alyan's actions towards the Russian side, at the moment there have been no substantive proposals. This was announced on May 16 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Of course, it is difficult to talk about resuming some kind of partnership or dialogue now, at a time when NATO, as the North Atlantic Alliance, is actually at war with the Russian Federation," he said at a briefing.
