Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. During the week, the Russian Armed Forces carried out six group strikes with precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles, which affected, among others, the enterprise of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, which manufactures components of the Neptun anti-ship missiles and unmanned boats, infrastructure facilities of military airfields, workshops for the assembly and repair of weapons and military equipment.

"The units of the Southern Group of Forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. They defeated the manpower and equipment of six mechanized, assault, mountain assault, and airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade," the Defense Ministry said.

Also, units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses and liberated the village of Volnoe Pole in the Donetsk People's Republic.

"During the week, 35 JDAM guided aerial bombs and five US—made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, as well as 930 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles, were shot down by air defense systems," the ministry added.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 662 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 57,436 unmanned aerial vehicles, 605 anti-aircraft missile systems, 23,354 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,563 multiple rocket launchers, 24,950 field artillery guns and mortars, 35,545 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
