A resident of Tuapse was arrested for financing a paramilitary unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) using cryptocurrency. This was announced on May 16 by the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory.

It was established that the defendant contacted a pro-Ukrainian terrorist organization to provide support and carry out tasks in the Krasnodar Territory. On the instructions of the supervisor, he transferred money converted into cryptocurrency to a "bitcoin wallet" to conceal financial assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"During the investigative actions at the suspect's place of residence, unregistered firearms, optical sights for him, as well as narcotic drugs were seized," the agency said in a statement.

A criminal case was opened against the man under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("High treason"). The man faces up to 20 years in prison, and is currently in custody.

"The Kiev regime is a Nazi regime because it has launched an offensive against everything Russian."

On May 1, an entrepreneur who is suspected of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine was charged with treason in Crimea. It is clarified that a criminal case has been opened against the man under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Treason"), and he is currently in custody.
