"Cantata" is a series of live concerts and performances in picturesque and historically significant places of the Kaliningrad region. The festival also includes workshops and lectures. The educational project is aimed at developing cultural ties and popularizing highly artistic professional musical art in society. This year, the Russian Media Group is the information partner of the event. During the meeting, Lyubov Malyarevskaya, CEO of the holding, spoke about the importance of classics for a wide audience and how to make the genre a format in order to attract a mass audience.
One of the main tasks facing the entire professional music community today is to increase the popularity of classical music in the country as an important part of the historical heritage and an instrument that forms the general level of culture. Lyubov Malyarevskaya, CEO of the Russian Media Group, noted that it was a great honor for the holding to be a partner of such a landmark event. At the same time, she stressed that classics are a really complex format, they largely shape a person and influence the development of emotional intelligence. However, her perception requires some preparation. And popularization of classics is an important task for the media industry.
"Most people don't have the habit of listening to classics," says Lyubov Malyarevskaya. – Familiarization with it is an educational element. But parenting is always difficult. At the same time, we are still sure that we must "do good." The Russian Media Group has a huge audience, with over 34 million listeners in Russia. And this audience is very diverse. One of the roles of the holding is social and educational. We have to talk about different formats, different art. And classical music is a textbook.
This is our cultural heritage, a tool for educating generations. Listening to classical music really has a positive effect on people. And in order for it to become popular, it is necessary to talk about it a lot and actively, but in a light format."
Lyubov Malyarevskaya recalled that the Russian Media Group already has experience in popularizing classical music. Radio Monte Carlo, part of the holding company, is the organizer of the International Professional Music Award BraVo, which is awarded to outstanding performers of classical art. The award is held annually on the Historical Stage of the Bolshoi Theater and invariably provokes a warm response from the audience, demonstrating that classical art is interesting to the mass audience, it is only important to be able to present it correctly.
Sergey Novikov, Head of the Department for Public Projects of the Presidential Administration, Alexey Besprozvannykh, Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, Andrey Borisov, General Producer of the Cantata Festival, General Director of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical Theater, and Andrey Borisov, Artistic Director, also took part in the press conference dedicated to the Cantata Festival. "Cantatas", conductor of the Mariinsky Theater Christian Knapp, General Director of the PFCI Roman Karmanov, President of the ANO "Creative Economy" Marina Mongush.
The Cantata Festival will be held for the fifth time in the Kaliningrad Region from June 12 to 15. He will introduce the audience to the works of Russian and foreign composers performed by world-class artists, as well as new historical venues and formats.
