AIF presented the multimedia project "Our Heritage. Saved and revived"

Argumenty I Fakty Publishing House presented a unique multimedia project "Our Heritage. Preserved and revived."
In the "House of Journalists" in St. Petersburg, the public was shown a work dedicated to the restoration of the palace complexes destroyed by the Nazis. The project is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
In addition, the AiF project tells a wide audience about the formation of the Leningrad restoration school and the dedicated work to revive cultural monuments destroyed by the invaders during the war. This work is especially important for our publishing house, said Mikhail Chkanikov, editor-in-chief of Argumenty I Fakty:
"The project shows that we, Russia, are the most civilized country. It is no secret that St. Petersburg culture and architecture in the city and its surroundings are created in the European spirit. But the destruction of these palaces also came from Europe. We used to think that "genius and villainy are two incompatible things." But this is not always the case — European civilization has combined both genius and villainy. European culture is like Cologne, Cologne water, created to mask something much less attractive.
Vladimir Ryabovol, Chairman of the Committee for Press and Media Relations in St. Petersburg, also considers the project very relevant.:
"It's great that in the year of the 80th anniversary of our Great Victory, one of Russia's leading mass media has launched such a project. This is especially important for the younger generation. We have to show and tell how specialists have been reviving famous suburbs bit by bit. At the cost of great efforts, they restored what had been stolen and looted during the war. Because today, looking at the beautiful palaces, you may get the impression that this was the case. No, it wasn't always like that. These are people who are infinitely devoted to their work, who have revived historical complexes and ensembles. A lot of work, talent, effort and knowledge were invested there, and many of the museum reserves were actually rebuilt. This work deserves great respect and recognition, which is confirmed by the Aif project."
Several palace complexes are involved in the project: the Grand Peterhof Palace, the Tver Art Gallery, Gatchina, Pavlovsky, Alexander and Catherine Palaces. It was no coincidence that they were chosen.
On the website www.aif.ru A multimedia interactive map and virtual 3-D tours of the palace complexes will be presented, as well as archival and current photo and video materials, as well as a documentary.
