Actress Elena Zemlyanikina was killed by a motorcycle at a pedestrian crossing on her way to university. This was announced on May 16 by actress Ekaterina Strizhenova in her Telegram channel.

"There is great grief in our family, Sasha's older sister Elena Zemlyanikina died. She was in a hurry to join the students at the institute, crossed the road, and was hit to death by a motorcycle," Strizhenova wrote.

Zemlyanikina was born on December 17, 1958. In 1981, she graduated from the Moscow Art Theater Studio School. She played in such films as: "Moscow does not believe in tears", "Mistress of an orphanage", "Time to collect stones" and others. The farewell to the actress will take place on May 17 at the Church of the Archangel Michael and Mary of Egypt in Moscow.
