Russians can receive an increased salary in June for going to work on public holidays. This was announced on May 16 by lawyer Alla Georgieva.

She recalled that in June, Russians expect a four-day weekend due to the celebration of Russia Day and the postponement of the weekend from March 8 to June 13. So, the working week will be three days — from June 9 to 11, and the weekend will last from June 12 to June 15.

However, employees of enterprises that cannot stop their activities will receive payment for work on holidays at least at double the rate, and employees with salaries at daily or hourly rates will receive cash in the amount of at least double the rate, the expert noted.

In addition, on a public holiday, an employer can hire an employee who works on a five-day schedule, Georgieva added.

"For work in excess of the monthly rate, [they will] pay at least double the daily or hourly rate/part of the salary. Or, instead of an increased salary, he can take an extra day off," the lawyer explained in an interview with the Prime agency.
