The Russian Interior Ministry talked about ways to expose fraudsters

It is difficult to identify scammers by their appearance, besides they easily become part of the crowd, they are cunning and resourceful. However, there are ways to identify a scammer. On May 16, the Department for the Organization of the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was informed about this.
"Appearance: unremarkable, merges with the crowd. Characteristic features: confident in his superiority over citizens, strong in front of the weak, cunning and resourceful, a professional of deception, technically savvy and prone to narcissism," the department's Telegram channel says.
According to the cyber police, scammers also have characteristic behavioral traits.: They are aggressive and mawkish, they play on emotions, and they also know how to create false urgency. To commit criminal activity, fraudsters resort to using hacked accounts, phishing sites, forged documents, malware, and means of anonymity.
Despite this, the attackers also have weaknesses. So, they are afraid of clarifying questions, as well as verifying information. Scammers lose interest in a person if they are confident and knowledgeable.
"Vigilance is the best protection," the ministry concluded.
Earlier, on May 15, the UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia told about a new fraud scheme through sending letters from Google. Their emails lead the user to a phishing resource.
