Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) The United States has requested 20,000 soldiers from the United States National Guard to help deport illegal migrants. This was reported on May 15 by The Hill newspaper, citing sources.

"The department has asked members of the National Guard from the Pentagon to 'help fulfill the president's instructions from the American people to arrest and deport criminal illegal migrants,'" Trisha McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary of the Interior, said in a statement.

It is clarified that the Pentagon has already received the request, but has not yet reviewed its contents.

As indicated in the publication, it is not yet known exactly how the members of the National Guard will assist in the elimination of illegal immigrants. They noted that they could participate in raids and arrests or provide security during transportation.

Earlier, on May 12, Reuters reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had instructed its agents that they would have to devote more time to immigration control, reducing the number of investigations related to white-collar crimes.
