Rubio denied information about his participation in the talks in Istanbul.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has denied information about his participation in negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul. This was reported by CNN on Thursday, May 15.
"Rubio said that he would not attend the talks with Russia on Friday, and does not expect a breakthrough in the negotiations until US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin meet face-to-face," the article says.
According to Rubio, Turkish representatives and someone from the American delegation will also take part in these negotiations. The Secretary of State himself will continue to stay in Turkey to monitor the negotiations, but will not interfere.
Russian Presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky noted earlier in the day that the Russian delegation in Istanbul is determined to find possible solutions and common ground on Ukraine. He pointed out that the Russian side considers the direct negotiations as a continuation of the peace process, which was interrupted by Kiev three years ago.
