Three defendants in the case of LGBT propaganda received house arrest

Two defendants in the case of LGBT propaganda (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) were placed under house arrest. This was announced on Thursday, May 15, by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction.
"The resolutions of the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow satisfied the investigator's requests for the choice of a preventive measure in the form of house arrest in respect of each of the defendants," the press service wrote on Telegram.
Pavel Ivanov, Sales Director of Individual Print LLC (recognized as a foreign agent), Artem Vakhlyaev, an employee of Individuum and Popcorn Books publishers, and Dmitry Protopopov, the head of these publishers, are accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organizing the activities of an extremist organization using official position"). The term of their house arrest will be one month and 28 days.
It is specified that the court denied the petition of Ivanov's defense for a more lenient measure of restraint.
On May 14, the Eksmo press service informed Izvestia that law enforcement officers had seized Popcorn Books from them in the case of LGBT propaganda. They noted that Eksmo's lawyers are investigating the situation and are trying to obtain additional information. They have not yet been provided with official copies of the documents.
On May 15, Anatoly Norovyatkin, the director of distribution of the Eksmo publishing house, and about 10 other people were detained in Moscow as part of an investigation into a criminal case on extremism. Investigative actions are being carried out with them. The detainees face sentences of up to eight years in prison for LGBT propaganda.
Later, the main investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the capital reported the detention of members of an extremist organization suspected of publishing and selling books promoting LGBT people. We are talking about three employees of Individuum Print LLC, who published and sold banned publications for selfish reasons. Their list was later provided by Eksmo.
