Sber called for the expansion of the experiment on Islamic finance in the regions of the Russian Federation. At the International Economic Forum "Russia — the Islamic World: KazanForum", Senior Vice President Oleg Ganeev supported the proposal of Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, to expand the experiment to regions where it is relevant.

The representative of Sberbank stressed that Islamic financing helps to attract both new customers and to bring back those who had previously left the bank.

"We are increasing the number and volume of partner financing transactions and are actively developing this area in Russia," Ganeev said. According to him, the bank has already concluded more than 62 thousand contracts totaling 3.5 billion rubles.

"15-20 subjects of the Russian Federation definitely want the experiment to spread. We believe that this should be supported where necessary," he added.

The experiment, which started on September 1, 2023, operates in four regions of the Russian Federation: Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Dagestan and the Chechen Republic. In March 2025, the State Duma received a bill to extend the experiment for three years.
