- The ex-head of the Kursk Region Development Corporation was arrested for three months.

The court extended the arrest of Vladimir Lukin, the former director general of the Kursk Region Development Corporation, for three months. This was reported on May 15 in the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the city of Moscow.
"By a decision of the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow, the investigator's request for an extension of the term of detention in respect of Vladimir Valeryevich Lukin, accused of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, was granted for a period of 3 months," follows from a publication on the Telegram channel.
As the Newspaper clarifies.Ru", Lukin was transferred to Moscow for investigative actions. The court reviewed the case file and kept the defendant in jail until the investigation was completed. At the same time, the lawyers demanded a change in the preventive measure, citing the lack of escape risks, but the court considered the arguments insufficient.
On January 28, the management of the Kursk Region Development Corporation, Vladimir Lukin, Igor Grabin, and Snezhana Martyanova, were detained in connection with the large-scale withdrawal of funds. They signed government contracts for the construction of defensive structures in the region, such as dugouts, firing points, strong points, and anti-tank pyramids. The damage was estimated at more than 3 billion rubles.
Maxim Vasiliev, deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma of the seventh convocation, Yuri Bessonov, ex-deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma of the Fifth convocation, Martyanova's brother, owner of Energo Resources LLC and Trading House Kursk LLC, as well as Ivan Utkin, an entrepreneur from Moscow, also participated in the corruption scheme.
The Meshchansky court of the capital arrested Vasiliev on April 21, and he will remain in custody until June 19.
