Szijjarto announced the intensification of anti-Hungarian propaganda in Ukraine

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that anti-Hungarian propaganda is intensifying in Ukraine. He announced this on May 15 in a video message posted on Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
Szijjarto stressed that Kiev, as well as Brussels and Warsaw, are intensifying a campaign aimed at discrediting Hungarian interests and preventing the Hungarian people from expressing their opinion on Ukraine's possible accession to the European Union (EU).
"Let's not allow Brussels, Warsaw or Kiev to decide on Ukraine's membership in the EU behind the back of the Hungarian people," he stressed.
The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, said on May 7 that the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU should be accelerated. She also believes that the EC is working hard on this issue. The first negotiations are planned to be held in 2025.
Prior to that, on March 10, Szijjarto said that the Hungarian government considers Ukraine's accession to the EU dangerous, but is ready to represent any position of its citizens on this issue in the international arena.
