The court arrested the deputy head of the Department of the Ministry of Transport Lugovenko

Vladimir Lugovenko, Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in the field of automobile and urban passenger transport of the Russian Ministry of Transport, was arrested in a case of restriction of competition. According to the file of the Moscow Meshchansky Court, he was taken into custody on May 13.

A criminal case has been opened against Lugovenko under Article 178, Part 2, paragraph a of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Restriction of competition by a person using his official position").

The Ministry of Transport told TASS that the ministry will provide full assistance to the investigative authorities in connection with Lugovenko's arrest.

Earlier that day, the court arrested the mayor of Novocherkassk, Yuri Lysenko. The official is suspected of accepting a bribe in the amount of 8 million rubles. A criminal case has been opened against him under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe").
