A 16-year-old murder was discovered in the Leningrad region. A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of committing a crime. This was reported on May 15 by a source of Izvestia.
"In August 2009, the body of a 24-year-old young man with a gunshot wound to the head was found in a forest area of the Kirovsky district. His identity was established only thanks to a genetic examination," the source told the publication.
During the long-term investigation, the operatives managed to collect evidence against the suspect. He was detained in the village of Bolshoe Sergelevo, where he had been living all this time. The man confessed to the crime.
On May 5, it was reported that a man who inflicted fatal injuries on his girlfriend 28 years ago would appear in court in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The tragedy occurred in the city of Achinsk in 1997, when a drunk 25-year-old man pushed his girlfriend from the landing during an argument. As a result, the woman's body knocked out a window on the landing between the third and fourth floors and fell down. The victim died on the spot from her injuries.
