"For the third year in a row (and for the fifth time in ten years) Cristiano Ronaldo has become the highest-paid athlete in the world <...> Over the past 12 months, counting both salary at the Saudi club Al-Nasr and income off the field, Ronaldo earned approximately $275 million before taxes and agency fees," the publication says.

The second place in the ranking was taken by basketball player Stephen Curry from Golden State, whose total earnings amounted to $ 156 million. British boxer Tyson Fury is in third position with an income of $146 million.

Forbes noted that, collectively, the ten highest-paid athletes in the world earned $1.4 billion last year. This is a record since 1990.
