Ukrainian European triple jump champion Marina Bekh-Romanchuk was suspended for doping. This was announced on May 15 on the website of the Athletics Integrity Unit, an independent body for combating negative phenomena in athletics.

The decision on suspension was made on May 14. It is clarified that experts found the banned substance testosterone in the athlete's doping test.

Bekh-Romanchuk became the European champion in 2022 in the triple jump and the silver medalist in the long jump.

In addition, as reported by "Gazeta.Ru", Bekh-Romanchuk won gold in 2021 at the European Indoor Championships in the long jump. The athlete also participated in the Olympic Games in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

It was clarified that the banned substance was found in the sample back in June 2024 during the Para-powerlifting World Cup competition in Tbilisi.
