Since the beginning of the year, Rutube has blocked 15,000 potentially dangerous videos for children.

All videos uploaded to Rutube are subject to mandatory and strict verification, with great attention being paid to children's content. Ilya Emelin, director of content management at the hosting company, told Izvestia about this on May 15 on the sidelines of a meeting of the working group on children's media safety in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

"Rutube does not allow potentially dangerous content for children to appear on the site. Since the beginning of 2025, we have already blocked 15,000 such videos. More than 5,000 user accounts have been blocked on the platform due to the creation and distribution of content dangerous to children. I'm talking about videos that are trying to be uploaded on the site, as well as broadcasts and comments under the video. We strictly and carefully check all uploaded content for children," Ilya Emelin said.

According to him, within the framework of the federal legislation on information protection (149-FZ), regular measures are carried out on Rutube to ensure self-regulation of content in both manual and semi-automatic mode.

He recalled that Gazprom Media Holding is one of the founders of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment, one of the principal approaches of which is to unite all participants and remove dangerous content from all platforms.

On April 25, it became known that views of children's content on VK Video have increased more than 30 times over the past year. According to the VK press service, the growth of the audience of young viewers on the platform is a strategic priority for the company.
