Fixed fine for hogweed introduced in Moscow region


The amount of the fine for non-removal of Sosnovsky hogweed is now 5 thousand rubles. The law for land owners was adopted on May 15 by deputies of the Moscow State Duma at a meeting.
"During the 111th meeting of the Moscow City Duma passed a law <...> setting a fixed fine for landowners for not carrying out measures to remove Sosnovsky hogweed from their possessions - now it amounts to 5 thousand rubles," follows from a message on the website of the Moscow City Duma.
It is specified that the law will enter into force 10 days after its publication.
According to the press service of the department, before that, in the Moscow region, the fine for violation ranged from two to five thousand rubles. However, according to the Moscow State Duma Committee, the measure was not effective then.
Earlier, on April 17, the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergey Dankvert, spoke about the work on the creation of a biopesticide based on natural mushrooms to combat borscht Sosnovsky. According to him, the plant poses a serious threat to the ecosystem due to its high survival rate.
