The Be-200CHS aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations liquidates a forest fire in the Chita region of the Trans-Baikal Territory. This was reported on May 15 in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

"10 km from the village of Cook station, Russian Emergencies Ministry aircraft are fighting the fire. The aircraft takes water from Kenon Lake," the agency's Telegram channel clarified.

It is specified that the settlement is also protected by the ground group of the department. There is no threat to the population.

Fiery response: the number of forest fires has increased tenfold in Russia

A state of emergency has been introduced in three regions.

On May 13, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Trans-Baikal Territory reported that the area of forest fires in the Trans-Baikal Territory exceeded 500 thousand hectares. In the Chita municipal district, the fire spread to more than 31 thousand hectares. Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to work in the settlements of Sokhodno, Yablonovo, Turgutui.
