The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the continuation of the protection of the "House of Moscow" in Riga

The legal protection of the nationalized cultural center "House of Moscow" in Riga will continue. This was announced on May 15 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the next auction for the sale of the House of Moscow in Riga.

The ministry stressed that Russia is doing a comprehensive job to defend its property interests in Latvia.

"Russia has filed a lawsuit with the European Court of Human Rights challenging the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Latvia, which had previously twice rejected appeals from the Russian side demanding that the law on the seizure of the House of Moscow building in Riga be recognized as unlawful, contradicting not only the norms of Latvian national legislation, but also the fundamental principles of international law," the Foreign Ministry website explained..

The Russian side insists that the actions of the Latvian authorities contradict both national legislation and international law. The resources of the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation are being used to combat the illegal actions of the Latvian regime.

"Efforts to legally protect the House of Moscow will continue, and those involved in the raider seizure of Russian property will be brought to justice and inevitably punished... This warning applies equally to potential purchasers of this Russian—owned property," Zakharova stressed.
