The statements of French President Emmanuel Macron regarding the Ukrainian conflict "cannot be understood with the mind." This was stated on May 15 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a meeting of the Diplomatic Club "Culture without Borders: the role and development of cultural diplomacy."

"It is impossible to understand this intellectually," the foreign minister said.

This is how Lavrov reacted to the French leader's words about the possible deployment of NATO forces on the territory of Ukraine.

"We cannot enter into a direct clash with Russia, otherwise there will be a third world war, we do not want it, so we will not send troops to the front line, but on the territory of Ukraine, a little further away, this will deter Russia," Lavrov quoted Macron as saying.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported on May 5 that, by decision of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the country has updated its war plan, which has been guided since 2005. It was clarified that the instructions were supplemented with new points concerning a possible conflict with Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 24 that the deployment of Western military contingents in Ukraine was unacceptable to Russia. He also noted that this initiative poses a critical threat to the security of the whole of Europe.
