On the night of May 18, Moscow will host the "Night of Museums" — the action has been taking place in the capital since 2007 and continues to attract new visitors. Among the interesting locations in 2025 is the Bulgakov Museum, whose program this year is particularly interesting due to the anniversary of the writer. Andrey Klyuev, a tour guide and a Moscow scholar, told Izvestia about this on May 17.

According to the expert, the choice between an independent inspection of the exposition and a guided tour depends on the purpose of the visit. If a person just wants to spend time in a relaxed atmosphere, it's enough to come to the playground. But for a deep acquaintance with the exposition, it is better to choose a format with a guided tour or an audio guide.

At the same time, Klyuyev reminded: paintings absolutely must not be touched with your hands. Painting is designed for visual perception — even light touches can damage the paint layer over time.

"You can look at the picture from different angles, from different points of view, get closer, further away. You can take a souvenir photo if you don't have a flash, because bright flashes of light, especially camera flashes, are also harmful to paintings," the guide warned.

The specialist clarified that the "Night of Museums" is also aimed at children — some exhibitions contain game panels.

"For example, the Museum of Moscow's new permanent exhibition, called The History of Moscow, offers exhibits specially assembled for children, and there are short animated videos that are historical, but adapted to children's audiences to make them more interesting," said Klyuev.

He also noted that when visiting a museum with children, one should take into account the interests of the child and not forget: children quickly get bored.

"It must be remembered that there is a reason for 45—minute lessons at school - children can devote about this time to new information. That is, it's probably not worth taking a child around the museum for three hours. It is better to spend less time, but at the same time show something the brightest that he will like," the expert recommended.

Earlier, on May 12, it was reported that the program of the action "Night of Museums" became known. The program includes over 600 events: These are excursions, creative meetings, workshops, concerts, film screenings and fashion shows. The Museum of Cosmonautics will become one of the key venues.
