During the meeting on May 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin defined Russia's negotiating position in Istanbul. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on May 15.
He recalled that at a meeting on the foreign policy agenda, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reported to the president, and First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, in turn, reported on the state of the economy and the defense industry.
Reports were also made by Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov, and the commanders of groups of Russian troops reported on the state of affairs.
"Taking into account these reports from all the participants of the meeting, the Russian president summed up the results, set tasks and determined the negotiating position of the Russian delegation in Istanbul," Peskov said.
