Alcohol control to be strengthened in Kuban before the holiday season

In the Krasnodar Territory, alcohol control will be strengthened ahead of the summer holiday season. Such plans were announced by the regional authorities.
The decision was made following a meeting held by Roman Kurinny, head of the regional Consumer Department, via video link. It was attended by representatives of the Agrarian Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the region and local governments.
"The holiday season requires special responsibility from the business. We will not allow counterfeiting or violations of norms to mar the rest of the guests of Kuban," Kurinny said, quoted by KrasnodarMedia news agency on Thursday, May 15.
The official instructed the departments to step up inspections of trade and catering enterprises, especially in resort areas and along highways.
Special attention will also be paid to the quality of services, safety and compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements. All facilities are required to meet the standards to ensure a comfortable stay for tourists.
Earlier in May, Izvestia wrote that the Russian alcohol market had shown a decline, with a drop in retail sales of almost all types of alcohol recorded in the first quarter of 2025. An increase in excise taxes, minimum retail prices and duties on foreign products led to a drop in demand.
