US President Donald Trump has made it clear that he does not want to see Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at the NATO summit in The Hague, which will be held in June this year. This was announced on May 15 by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot.

"Trump really makes it clear that he does not want Zelensky's presence at the upcoming NATO summit in the Netherlands at the end of June," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

At the same time, Philippot called such an initiative by the United States wise to achieve peace. He added that Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron and their allies are in a panic because of this decision.

Earlier in the day, the Euractiv portal reported that for the first time since 2022, the Ukrainian leadership was not invited to the main discussions at the NATO summit in order to avoid friction with the United States. It is noted that the decision violates established practice, since Zelensky has attended all three of the last three annual NATO meetings since the beginning of the special operation.

On May 14, the United States opposed Zelensky's invitation to the NATO summit in June. At the moment, applications for participation in the meeting have already been sent to Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. The issue of inviting Ukraine may be raised at an informal meeting of foreign ministers in Antalya.
