The metropolitan authorities plan to build more than 30 more metro stations in the coming years. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in a column dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Moscow metro.

"The metro is growing with Moscow, and this growth did not stop even during the Great Patriotic War. The Moscow Metro is more than a transport, it is a magnificent architectural monument, the pride of Muscovites and our entire country," the mayor emphasized.

According to Sobyanin, the construction of four stations of the Troitskaya line — Vavilovskaya, Akademicheskaya, Krymskaya and ZILA - will be completed in 2025. In 2026, it is planned to open the first stations of the new 17th line - Rublevo—Arkhangelskaya.

By 2030, sections of the Troitskaya Line from Novomoskovskaya station to Troitsk station and the Biryulevskaya line from ZILA to Biryulyovo will be introduced. In addition, for the first time in 70 years, a new station, Dostoevskaya, will appear on the Ring Line, Golyanovo station will open on the Arbatsko—Pokrovskaya line, and Yuzhny Port will open on the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line.

Since 2010, the metro network has grown more than 1.6 times — the number of stations has increased from 182 to 302, including the MCC, Sobyanin noted. Currently, more than 90% of Muscovites live within walking distance from the stations, the mayor emphasized.
