With the support of the Foundation, the Kherson region is ready to present the investment potential of the region at the SPIEF

The Roscongress Foundation held a meeting with the leadership of the Kherson region dedicated to the development of the region's convention and exhibition activities and its participation in key events of the Foundation, including the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The event was attended by Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Management Board and Director of the Roscongress Foundation, and Vladimir Bodelan, Deputy Governor of the Kherson Region and Head of the Permanent Mission of the Kherson Region to the Government of the Russian Federation.

Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Management Board and Director of the Roscongress Foundation, noted that in the context of geopolitical tensions, convention and exhibition activities remain a key driver of economic growth and business tourism in Russia's regions, and the Foundation's experience in organizing major business events makes it possible to effectively represent their comprehensive potential.

"The Roscongress Foundation considers cooperation with the subjects of the Russian Federation as one of the priorities of its activities. Our basic goal is to promote their investment, export, tourism and cultural potential, as well as to attract development support measures, taking into account the socio–economic priorities of the regions. To this end, we strive to actively involve them in congress and exhibition activities," stressed Alexander Stuglev.

The meeting participants discussed steps to promote the investment potential of the Kherson region in order to implement the objectives of the Master Plan for the development of the region. Particular attention was paid to the considered participation of the Kherson region in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held on June 18-21, 2025. According to the participants of the meeting, this will make it possible to unlock the unique investment opportunities of the Kherson region, which has access to the Black and Azov Seas, as well as federal tax preferences within the framework of the free economic zone.

"The participation of the Kherson region in business events, especially the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, will open up new prospects for integration into the economic and legal space of Russia. This is an important step that will allow us to present the investment potential of the Kherson region to a wide audience, establish useful business contacts and attract the necessary resources for development. Such opportunities inspire and give confidence in the successful implementation of strategic projects, contributing to sustainable growth and improving the quality of life in the region," said Vladimir Bodelan, Deputy Governor of the Kherson Region and Head of the Permanent Mission of the Kherson Region to the Government of the Russian Federation.

A key opportunity to promote the region's resources is its vivid and meaningful presentation within the unique SPIEF exhibition space, the expositions of the regions of Russia. Here, the Kherson region can present its development strategy, reflecting the capacity of key sectors of the economy and business support measures. In addition, the Governors' Living Room is traditionally open on the sidelines of the Forum, another platform in the architecture of the SPIEF, designed for business negotiations, informal communication and demonstration of the capital intensity of the regions of Russia. Every year, the heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, plenipotentiary representatives of the President of the Russian Federation, and senior officials visit the Governors' Living Room.

The meeting participants also discussed the results of the first Tauride Investment and Economic Forum (TIEF), which was held in November 2024 in Genichesk. The event became the first platform in the history of the reunified regions to present the investment potential, the hospitality industry and the economic preferences of the Kherson region. The parties noted the prospects of this event for strengthening the region's economy and expressed their willingness to cooperate in organizing the second TIEF with the expert support of the Roscongress Foundation.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on systematic cooperation aimed at implementing strategic projects in the region and increasing the business activity of the Kherson region within the framework of events organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
