In Tomsk, the former first vice-rector of Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (TSASU) and his son were detained on suspicion of committing embezzlement on an especially large scale. This was reported on May 15 in the Investigative Department (SU IC) of the Russian Federation in the Tomsk region.
"A criminal case has been opened on the theft of funds <...> on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by a group of persons by prior agreement on an especially large scale")," the Telegram channel says.
It is specified that the defendant and his son employed a local resident at TSASU, who did not perform his work functions during the entire period of employment. In addition, they also appropriated the salary of this employee. The amount of stolen funds amounted to more than 8.5 million rubles.
The department also noted that investigators are currently collecting evidence against the intruders.
On May 5, Ivan Dmitriev, CEO of Creative LLC, was arrested in the Khabarovsk Territory on suspicion of embezzling 650 million rubles during the implementation of the state defense Order (GOZ). In addition, he is suspected of abusing his powers in fulfilling a state defense order (paragraphs "a" and "b" of Part 2 of art. 201.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and a criminal case has been opened against him.
