The Diocesan Church Museum was created in the Pskov region

The first Diocesan Church Museum in the Pskov region was established in Velikiye Luki. Its opening took place on May 14, on the eve of the International Museum Day. The museum is located on the second floor of the Velikiye Luki Diocese building.
As Bishop Sergius of Velikiye Luki and Nevelsky said at the opening, the museum was created not only for internal church use. Anyone interested in history and church art will be able to visit it. Students, schoolchildren and ordinary citizens will come here. This was preceded by many years of collecting exhibits, including from abandoned and closed temples.
The museum's exposition includes ancient icons, handwritten notes for the church choir, pre–revolutionary church books, clerical vestments, church newspapers and magazines of the XIX-XX centuries, crosses of clergymen who died during the years of repression.
Among the unique exhibits is an ancient key from the ancient cathedral, which was found during excavations on the territory of the Velikiye Luki Fortress. The central place in the exhibition is occupied by the icon "Fiery Ascent of the Prophet Elijah". This is a multi-figure composition dedicated to earthly and heavenly events from the life of the saint. The icon was restored almost in fragments, the Pskov news feed writes.
Earlier it was reported that 14 cultural heritage protection zones will appear in Pskov. They were approved by the Regional Committee for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites and the Russian Ministry of Culture.
