Criminal cases have been opened against two residents of Sevastopol. They are suspected of collecting information and organizing terrorist attacks against the Russian army in Crimea on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). On May 15, the FSB department for the republic and the city of Sevastopol was informed about this.

"The FSB of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has initiated criminal proceedings against two residents of Sevastopol who are suspected of treason," the department said.

It is specified that the 53-year-old resident of Sevastopol was recruited by the SBU using the Telegram messenger. According to the assignment, he needed to pick up the phone to hide the connection, which was located in the hiding place of the city cemetery. The resident planned to use his mobile device to transmit information to the IEDs about the positions of weapons and military equipment of the Russian army. This was necessary for the enemy to establish targets and strike at them.

Another detainee, a 51-year-old resident of the city, was recruited by an SBU agent who was exposed. The man was passing information to the enemy about the locations of Russian Armed Forces facilities in Sevastopol. Later, the information obtained was used by foreign intelligence in order to accurately launch missile strikes. The man also kept components of an improvised explosive device at his place of residence.

Earlier, on May 7, it was reported about the detention of three natives of Ukraine, who, on instructions from Kiev, were going to set off an explosion at the monument to the T-34 Tank in Kakhovka, Kherson region, during a rally. They made an unsuccessful attempt to blow up a car with Russian fighters and planned to kill an employee of the Holopristan district administration using an improvised explosive device.
