Aksyonov urged not to take seriously the opinion of Western countries on Crimea

Crimea does not need to be recognized by the United States and other Western countries as Russian territory. This was announced on May 15 by the head of the republic Sergey Aksenov.
"For all residents of Russia and Crimea, the status of the peninsula was determined a long time ago — in 2014. That's the main thing. Our peninsula has been living and developing successfully for 11 years without the recognition of the United States, Great Britain and any other foreign countries," he told TASS.
According to Aksyonov, many Western leaders often change their position, as a result of which "too much attention" should not be paid to this issue. He added that the priority for local residents is to determine the status of the peninsula in 2014.
On May 1, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Simferopol, Artyom Berezovsky, said that the West and Ukraine were aware of who owned Crimea — it was the sovereign territory of the Russian Federation. Berezovsky noted that this region cannot be considered as a simple thing that can be transmitted. In particular, 2.5 million people expressed their desire about who they want to connect their future and the future of their children with.
The Axios portal noted on April 30 that US President Donald Trump is ready to recognize Crimea as part of Russia, but he does not require Ukraine to do so.
