The participation of suspects and convicts in the courts was proposed to be transferred online

The Accounting Chamber recommended equipping all colonies and pre-trial detention centers with videoconferencing systems, follows from the agency's report, which was reviewed by Izvestia.

This will save up to 95% of the money for escorting suspects and convicts.

In addition, as stated in the document, the judicial system is not yet fully integrated into the processes of digital transformation of public administration. Despite some examples of the use of information technology in the work of courts, a unified digital space in this area has not yet been formed.

As the results of the analysis show, digitalization of the judicial system is vital — the number of cases submitted to the judicial authorities is increasing every year. From 2018 to 2023, the growth was 23%.
