Anatoly Norovyatkin, the distribution director of Eksmo publishing house, was detained in Moscow as part of the investigation of a criminal case on extremism. This was reported by law enforcement agencies on Thursday, May 15.

"Norovyatkin and other defendants in the extremism case detained in Moscow face sentences of up to eight years in prison for LGBT propaganda (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia)," TASS quoted the ministry as saying.

It is specified that in addition to Norovyatkin, about 10 more people were detained. At the moment, investigative actions are being carried out with them.

On May 14, the Eksmo press service informed Izvestia that law enforcement officers had seized Popcorn Books from them in the case of LGBT propaganda. They noted that Eksmo's lawyers are investigating the situation and are trying to obtain additional information. They have not yet been provided with official copies of the documents.
