The Israeli Government has agreed to resume the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. This was announced on Thursday, May 15, by the Axios portal.

The resumption of humanitarian aid supplies was a key condition of the new Humanitarian Fund for Gaza (GHF), established with the support of the United States and Israel. According to Israelis, this fund will allow aid to be delivered without the control of the radical Hamas movement.

GHF has already announced that it will begin operations in Gaza by the end of the month.

"There is no time to wait for ideal conditions. We must act and do this without compromising our values. Today we are one step closer to doing just that," GHF Executive Director Jake Wood said.

Earlier, on May 12, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that about 500,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are suffering from extreme food shortages resulting from the suspension of humanitarian aid and the blockade by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). 57 children have died of starvation since March 2.
