A fire broke out in a boarding school for the disabled in Rovenki, Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), and 64 people were evacuated from the institution. This was announced on May 14 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the LPR.
According to the agency, the fire occurred in a room on the second floor of the boarding school. It is specified that the room is completely burnt out. The fire was extinguished on an area of 16 square meters, 27 specialists and six pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
"Rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated 64 people. There is a victim," the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the LPR says.
It is specified that a 57-year-old man was injured. He was hospitalized in a medical facility. The gas and smoke protection unit acted immediately, and people with limited mobility needed help.
The causes of the fire are being established, the Ministry of Emergency Situations added.
The day before, one person died in a fire in an apartment building in Murmansk. It was clarified that one room in the affected apartment was completely burned out. Dina Rygina, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Murmansk Region, clarified that specialists evacuated 20 residents from the building.
