Charge d'affaires of Russia in Estonia Lenar Salimullin was summoned to the Estonian Foreign Ministry on May 14, where he was handed a protest note after the country's authorities stated that a Russian plane had allegedly violated the republic's airspace.

"From the point of view of Estonia, this is a very serious and regrettable incident, which is in no way acceptable," Tsakhkna wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Moscow has not yet commented on Tallinn's accusations.

On April 9, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation held a demarche to the Charge d'affaires of Estonia in Russia, Jana Vanamelder, in connection with the desecration of military graves at the Tallinn Military Cemetery. In March, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry had already declared the inadmissibility of desecrating the tombstones of Soviet servicemen, but Tallinn not only did not draw the necessary conclusions, but also cynically continued to lead the situation to further deterioration, the ministry said.
