Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the students who won the 59th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, calling their participation in the competition a triumph. The telegram of the head of state was published on the Kremlin's website on May 14.

"Congratulations on your triumphant performance at the 59th International Mendeleev Olympiad. You have adequately represented Russia at these prestigious competitions, demonstrated deep knowledge, endurance and team cohesion, and the ability to win in a fair fight with talented peers from many countries," the text says.
