Brazil's Ambassador to Russia called Silva's stop in Moscow a technical one

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's stop in Moscow was of a technical nature. On May 14, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the South American state to the Russian Federation Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares told Izvestia.
"It was a technical stop for refueling [the plane]," he said.
According to him, during the shutdown, Silva did not meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Subsequently, the Brazilian leader headed for his homeland.
On the afternoon of May 14, a special aircraft of the Brazilian Air Force landed at Vnukovo Airport. Prior to that, at a press conference in Beijing, Silva made it clear that he wanted to discuss the negotiation process on the Ukrainian conflict with Putin in Moscow. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, noted that the Kremlin would inform about the meeting between Putin and the Brazilian leader, if any.
Later, the Brazilian Embassy in Russia reported that Silva had made a short stop in Moscow and left Russia.
