The Democratic Party of the USA is experiencing a personnel problem. Victoria Fedosova, Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts at the RUDN University, told Izvestia on May 14.

The Associated Press reported that according to a survey, the majority of Democrats are currently extremely pessimistic about the future of the party. Only three out of 10 Democrats are optimistic about the future; last summer, six out of 10 party representatives believed in their party.

According to her, since the last presidency of Donald Trump, the US Democratic Party has "radicalized itself." At the beginning of the last term of the American politician, almost three quarters of Democrats were ready to cooperate with him as president, and now less than half of them are. However, the Democrat had to face reality, the expert noted.

"The ideological basis of the election platform has broken down, and this is also superimposed by a personnel problem that emerged long before the election <...> There were also purely technological miscalculations during the campaign that led to such a strong disappointment: this, of course, is the debate of [former US President Joe] Biden, and the subsequent This is a chain of uncertain steps to replace the candidate," said Fedosova.

She stressed that at the moment the Democrats are watching Trump closely, waiting for him to stumble.

"Highlighting Trump's mistakes and his conduct of business in 2026 may give the Democrats a chance to take revenge and take away from the Republicans their shaky advantage in the Senate or the House of Representatives, again paralyzing the work of Congress. In this case, they will try to move towards their big revenge not with their own positive agenda, but solely on Trump's failures. However, this is too distant a prospect," concluded Fedosova.

On April 5, a member of the American Congress from the Democratic Party, Al Green, at a rally called "Hands off!" announced that he would initiate the impeachment process against Trump within 30 days. On the same day, large demonstrations began in the United States against the policies of the American president and the imposition of import duties.

Later, the Axios portal reported that Democrats in the US House of Representatives expressed dissatisfaction with attempts to impeach the president of the country.
