China has suspended export controls on dual-use goods for 28 American companies. This was announced on May 14 by the Guancha portal with reference to a representative of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.

"In order to implement the consensus reached at the high—level economic and trade negotiations between China and the United States, it was decided to suspend the above measures for 90 days from May 14, 2025," the publication says.

According to the material, if exporters need to supply dual-use goods to these 28 firms, they need to contact the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. The agency will check and issue a license if the requirements are met.

On May 13, US President Donald Trump announced that China is ready to open the market for American goods. According to him, the parties only need to agree on the details.

On May 12, the American leader said that the negotiations between China and the United States on trade differences in Geneva were productive. He noted that the countries have achieved a complete reset of relations and agreed to reduce duties imposed after April 2 to 10% for 90 days.

On the same day, the Xinhua news agency reported on the PRC's decision to suspend or cancel non-tariff countermeasures that were taken against the United States from April 2, 2025. It was clarified that Washington, in turn, plans to change additional customs duties on Chinese goods.
