The characteristics of the first model of the new brand Lepas from Chery are revealed

Chery has shared new details about the first model of the new Lepas sub-brand. The L8 model will be presented with three types of power plants — pure gasoline, plug-in hybrid and fully electric. This is stated in the message of the Chinese concern, which was received by Izvestia on May 14.

The Lepas L8 crossover in petrol and hybrid versions will be equipped with an in-line four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine of 2.0 liters. The range of the hybrid PHEV version exceeds 1.3 thousand km, and fuel consumption is about 4.5 liters /100 km.

The fully electric version of the L8 has a range of 700 km without recharging, with an average power consumption of 12 kWh/100 km. With fast charging, the battery can replenish the energy reserve in five minutes, which is enough for 150 km of travel.

It is planned to sell cars on the world market under the Lepas brand. It is not yet specified in which countries it will be presented. It is stated that the flagship crossover L8 will go on sale before the end of this year. Over the next three years, the brand's range will expand to five models. The L8 will be followed by the L6 urban crossover and the L4 subcompact.

By 2027, Lepas aims to establish a global dealer network of 1.2 thousand centers and achieve annual production and sales of over 500 thousand vehicles.
