The US Democrats are pessimistic about the future of their party, despite the fact that neither they nor the Republicans have the support of the majority of the country's citizens. This was reported on May 14 by the Associated Press (AP) with reference to the survey.

According to the results of the study, about a third of the members of the Democratic Party are "very optimistic" or "somewhat optimistic" about the prospects of their faction.

"I don't have a very high opinion of the Democrats right now. <...> In my opinion, they are not doing enough to oppose [US President Donald] Trump," said one of the respondents.

At the same time, 55% of Republicans surveyed are confident in the prospects of their party, the publication clarifies.

The Axios portal reported on May 2 that Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives expressed dissatisfaction with Congressman Sri Thanedar's attempts to impeach the president of the country for "abuse of authority."
