A forest fire was extinguished near the village of Yasny in Transbaikalia. This was announced on May 14 by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the region.
It is specified that the fire covered 1.2 hectares. 50 specialists and 11 pieces of equipment from Chita and Khabarovsk took part in extinguishing the fire.
"Thanks to the rapid response, the fire was localized as soon as possible," the department's Telegram channel said.
In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the threat of fire spreading to the settlement had been eliminated.
On May 13, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Trans-Baikal Territory reported that the area of forest fires spread in the Trans-Baikal Territory exceeded 500 thousand hectares. In the Chita municipal district, the fire spread to more than 31 thousand hectares. Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to work in the settlements of Sokhodno, Yablonovo, Turgutui.
